VENETA, Ore. - A man faces accusations of attempted murder after a discussion about a motorcycle turned violent early Friday morning.

The sheriff's office arrested Johnny Robert Hausman, 38, on charges of attempted murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a firearm.

The invesitgation started at 1:39 a.m. when deputies responded to a report of an armed dispute at a Veneta home. The resident told deputies three people arrived at his house to talk to him about a motorcycle. The discussion turned into a physical dispute and shots were fired, he told deputies.

No one was hit by the gunshots.

The three people fled the home after the gun was fired,leaving their vehicle behind. The sheriff's office impounded the rig.

One of the three was found hiding in the brush across the street from the home. He was determined not to be the shooter and was not arrested.

Deputies found Hausman, who they determined had fired the shots, at the West Lane Center at 7 a.m. They took him into custody without further incident.

The third subject is still outstanding and is wanted for questioning only at this time.
